INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPIER MACHE

You can purchase wallpaper paste from almost any hardware store.

Mix it according to the package directions.  

You may have better results if you make the mixture slightly thicker than recommended. 

Make a form for the animal using crumpled up newspapers and wire or tape.  

The form must be accurate; 

what you see is what you get.  

Insert an unbent large paper clip into the top of the form to use as a hanger for the insect.  

Then, tear the newspaper into narrow strips, 

soak them in the wallpaper paste, 

strip the excess paste off the strip between two fingers, and 

apply the newspaper to the form.  

The more delicate the area on which you are working, 

the smaller your newspaper strips should be.  

Apply at least two layers of newspaper to ensure durability.  

Allow to dry.  

Paint.
