Sound Hike


Purpose:To increase observation skills, To improve descriptive vocabulary.
Season:All
Materials:Paper, pencil, clipboard
Procedure:
  1. Locate a place at Miller Springs with the fewest people sounds.
  2. Remain in this location for five minutes and listen for all the sounds you can hear.
  3. Record what you heard. If you cannot identify a sound, describe it.
  4. Repeat this in different locations.
  5. Compare the findings.
Questions:
  1. How quiet was it?
  2. Why was there noise?
  3. Was it really noiseless?
  4. What would it be like without noise?
