Protocol for Transplanting:

• Spray existing vegetation with glyphosate three weeks before planting.

• Remove dead vegetation mechanically.

Items needed: shovels, sharpshooters, rakes, gloves

• Transplant seedlings by hand.

Items needed: tape measure (100'), string, marking flags, flat wooden stakes, marking pen and pencil, trowels, shovels, sharpshooters, gloves, planting plan (diagram illustrating what plant goes where).

• Fertilize plots: Broadcast fertilizer (16:20:0) at a rate of 60 lbs. per acre actual nitrogen = 0.42 (191 grams) 16:20:0 per plot (49 ft square).

Plot Design and Planting Plan:

• One site, two replicates, in a randomized complete block design.

• Square plots, 7 X 7 ft, 16 plants/plot on 2 ft centers, four feet between plots.
