Field Trip Planner: Short Duration Activities

SHORT DURATION ACTIVITIES:

(1) Nature Poetry--Have students stop in a scenic or secluded area (The Reading Nook on Green Pool Trail) and create a short poem about their immediate surroundings. The station leader should designate a format and structure for the poems.

(2) If art is a focus, a mural station may be established near the mural wall (see Mural of Belton Dam (http://bellnet.tamu.edu/res_grid/intermed/science/MURAL.htm)). The station leader may require sketches of the mural, lecture on the information on the mural or go to one of the other scenic areas.
