Summary:
There are two main type of rain forest: equatorial rain forest and tropical rain forest.
The student will have the opportunity to search the inter net to find information on both.

Objectives:
To identify 2 types of rain forest and recognize characteristics of each.
Procedures:
1. Get the students on line with Netscape Navigator.
2. In the location box, have the students type in the following address and go to that web site.

3. The students can work alone or in groups, depending on computer availability.
Questions:
1. How much of the rainforest are equatorial? Where can they be found?
2. Where can tropical moist forest be found in reference to equatorial rain forest?
3. What kind of forest have no seasons, with the same temperature and rainfall year-round.
4. Where does all of this rain for these forest come from?
5. Describe the water cycle in the rain forest?
Evaluation:
The students can keep their findings in a journal or on note cards and catalog.

forest.
